Parents love their kids, and tend to make sacrifices all the time for them. That includes portrait photography. Parents usually want to be in the family portrait, and maybe they were pleased to have some wedding or engagement portraits a while back, but a camera focusing on them, right now, is the farthest thing from their mind.
