Starting as a political news and celebrity portrait photographer in DC, Sam was instantly drawn to wedding photography as a space to promote more inventive ideas. Sam’s focus is on photographic techniques that are deceptively simple but have the potential to transform difficult or uninspiring shooting environments into one-of-a-kind opportunities for every photo made.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Mel for a portrait session commissioned by her husband Theo as a special gift for her 40th birthday! We explored various locations throughout the National Gallery of Art, and despite only meeting Mel for the first time at the start of the session, she immediately put her trust in my vision. Her cousin Diana was incredibly helpful, assisting us as we moved between different spots in the gallery. As a wedding photographer, I particularly enjoy these types of sessions during the off-season as they allow me to flex different creative muscles and create something unique for my clients!
