At least, I hope so. I’ve hosted many workshops all over the world, but I’m excited to again return to Orlando.
My workshop is very intensive and practical. You’ll learn about my current business, workflows, equipment, and process for effortless creative portraits and documentation of wedding days. Other topics include – the inner workings of my “company of one,” preset development, how to nurture sustainable creativity, and a live shoot with a real couple. All photographs I make during the day will be presented and edited from start-through-delivery in front of the group. You will also have plenty of opportunities to make photos for yourself!

Business covers marketing, SEO, pricing, ads, and socials. Equipment includes lighting (natural, bounce flash, LED), lenses, and all the gear. Workflow involves import and LR optimization, the beginning-to-end process, and AI culling and editing. Epic portraits encompass the who, the why, and the how.

A live shoot features a real awkward couple, real shooting situations, and real creativity. Techniques include freelensing, ring of fire, prisming, and color spreading—all the -ing. Post-processing involves Lightroom and LUT-based camera calibration profiles, showing how I do it all while keeping it consistent.

Worth the time, worth the money. Sam is an amazing photographer well-known for his distinctive aesthetic, and his workshop is a great place to learn about the techniques he uses to achieve that. But the less-obvious way in which Sam’s instruction is worthwhile is the really solid procedure and workflow he uses. He’s refined his system at every stage of the process, from initial contact and leads to back-up to delivery, and it’s a level of professionalism that’s worth trying to imitate. A+, would recommend.
Sam’s workshop was by far the best I’ve ever attended. He’s a really genuine person with an insane talent and an honest willingness to share anything and everything he can.vHe teaches specific techniques, down to breaking down individual images in his portfolio and how to use those skills in our own work. He teaches high level ideas just as strongly as he explains specific techniques. I would attend another workshop of his in a heart beat.
Sam was incredible – he shared any and everything about his photography. And not just his techniques, which are unique and original, but also his business practices. We had an open discussion about any topics – and the model shoot was fun, laid back and informative. Definitely recommend Sam’s workshop! If he comes to a city that’s near you, it’s worth the money and the travel!
Sam is not only a photographer, but also a teacher and that title is pretty high in my book. Many people try to be teachers, and even some get paid to do it, but it isn’t an easy task. Not all artists can explain the why’s and how’s of their work. He was incredibly informative, organized, and engaging. He appealed to various types of learners with images, an intelligent lecture, and hands-on experience photographing models. There wasn’t an area he wasn’t knowledgeable about or a question he couldn’t answer. To top it off, he’s incredibly down to earth and likable!
Absolutely LOVED it! The title does do this workshop definitely justice. It was absolutely EPIC. Sam is such a genuinely nice guy and very open about his photography experiences, techniques and business strategies. After the two days, my head was totally and utterly buzzing from all the excitement and inspiration. This was probably one of my best workshop experiences ever! Kudos and a big, fat THANK YOU to this amazingly talented man!
Such an epic workshop. Sam was so open and enthusiastic about his approach and techniques, it’s impossible not to be inspired. I’m now looking forward to putting everything into to practice!
I guess it ‘s always hard to digest these things in the moment but with a couple of weeks to take it in I thought it was worth saying that I really took a lot away from this workshop. Lots of great (and actionable) information that is already having a benefit. I’d highly recommend this, covers such a broad range and Sam is a great teacher.
Sam is an amazing photographer and an excellent instructor. His techniques and his tips on workflow improved my own work ten fold. I now have a more streamlined workflow and have really taken off in terms of business. I recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to shoot weddings!
