I’m there to document genuine moments as they naturally happen. For the majority of the day, I stay very hands off, focusing 100% on the story. You won’t find me asking your friends to recreate moments, but you will find me ready to capture those moments before they even happen.
During portraits, it’s a little different. I give plenty of direction, working to bring creative ideas and new photography techniques to make images that are unique. Though I do direct during portraits my intentions are to capture candid moments to give you honest, natural photos.
My goal at every wedding is to develop new photographic ideas no one has ever before seen. If that’s something that excites you, we’ll be a perfect fit.

Nope! 1.5 months before the wedding you’ll receive a questionnaire with everything I need to know about your wedding plans. Included in that is the only shot list I ask for – the groupings for family photos. There are recommendations about what people normally do and an area to fill in what’s unique to your family.
Travel costs only apply with locations that require a flight or that are over 4 hours away from DC, Baltimore, NYC. Destination weddings will be customized depending on the specifics of your location, however it’s generally 2 nights hotel and round trip flight out of BWI airport.

This includes nearly everything I offer. The 2nd photographer is a great option for weddings with 200+ guests, and I only work with professionals that I trust. Their images are given to me for safekeeping, and edited along with my own.
$1000 non refundable payment to own the date. I have a policy of booking with whoever first submits their contract and pays the retainer for an inquired date.
After we’ve talked about which package works best for your wedding I’ll send along a formal proposal with the contract and payment information in a custom online portal.

I’ve partnered with Nathan Mitchell to offer videography coverage of the ceremony, and any toasts/speeches during the reception. When Nathan isn’t covering video/audio capture for those two events – he’s second shooting images along side me.

Engagement sessions are incredibly helpful to prepare for the wedding day. It’s a chance to unlearn how you’ve previously had your picture taken and get a full sense of what to expect from me and my approach so it’s not even a thought come wedding day. Review my session guide for more information!

2nd Photographer - 950
Let me start by saying that I photograph most weddings by myself, however sometimes it just makes logistical sense to have a second photographer. I can’t be in two places at the same time and if you want photos of getting ready in two totally different locations, or you want lots of detail photos during cocktail hour while we’re out taking photos – a second photographer is the best way to go about it.
- I only use professionals that I trust and whose style and approach is similar to my own.
- All images are given to me for safekeeping and edited for delivery right along with my own.
Albums
Often, the experience of seeing your photos actually printed in a physical/tangible form can be forgotten about. It’s an important factor to consider when you’re thinking about what you truly want out of your wedding photos. Sometimes it’s just a totally different feeling to pull out a wedding album than it is to boot up your computer. To look at ink instead of pixels. To hold the memories of your day in your hands… without any need for an outlet.
- Album layouts are self-designed using your online gallery interface. Design by Sam Hurd is available for an additional $500.

Photobooths are all doing the same thing these days – I wanted to offer something simple, new and fun for wedding guests. GIFYYY creates super-fun, fast-paced animated gif files that are sent instantly via text message. Your guests can save them to their phones and share via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I am so thankful we found Sam to photograph both our engagement in DC and wedding pics in VA. His work is unique and uncommon in the NYC area, but I was fortunate that he was easily able to come to New York. He was the first vendor I booked, since it’s the photos that remain after the day flies by. My only regret was not getting a photo with him at the end of the evening. He is a true gem!
